AM2
AM2 is a practical performance skills test for electricians. It serves as an industry-standard assessment to demonstrate occupational competence.
Cost: £860 + VAT
Duration: ~16 hours
18th Edition
The 18th Edition course is a qualification that teaches individuals the latest wiring regulations and safety standards for electrical installations.
Cost: £450 + VAT
Duration: 3 days (classroom-based)
Level 3 Electrical Installation Inspection, Testing, Certification and Reporting
This is a qualification that provides a complete understanding of how to perform initial verification, testing, and periodic inspection of electrical installations.
Cost: £1500 + VAT
Duration: 8 days (classroom-based)
Routes to success – ECS gold card
The ECS Gold Card proves that you are a qualified electrician able to work unsupervised on institutions, commissions and maintenance of low-voltage electrical equipment and appliances in a consumer’s electrical installation.

- A JIB recognised UK Level 3 Apprenticeship standard, JIB approved UK competency-based qualification (NVQ), or equivalent.
- Hold a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment.
- A recognised BS7671:2018 qualification, (18th Edition).
SkillSearcher offers a direct route for EXPERIENCED electricians to achieve their ECS Gold Card.
