Electricians who wish to carry out inspection, testing and commissioning; and periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting.
Those who wish to obtain an Industry recognised qualification.
Experienced electricians who have never gained formal qualifications in inspection and testing or who may wish to update and reaffirm their skills.

Course aims:
This qualification covers the specialist knowledge and skills you need, including appropriate legislation, inspection and testing techniques, completing and issuing certificates or reports and understanding and verification of results and measurements.
This includes learning outcomes tha cover safe isolation, inspection, safe testing of both pre-energised and energised circuits and the practical use of test equipment.
How will it be assessed?
Assessment will be through a multiple-choice on-line test which is open book (IET Guidance note 3), and 2 Centre Assessed practical tasks.
How long is the course?
This 6-day classroom-based electrical training course is to ensure that you are conversant and gain familiarity with the layout, content and application of IET Guidance Note 3.

Level 3 Award in Electrical Installation Inspection, Testing, Certification and Reporting
Progression Route:
EAL Level 3 Award In the In-Service Inspections and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT)
EAL Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations
EAL Level 3 Award in the Requirements for the Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Points
ECS/JIB Approved electrician grading

Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
However, we would expect the learner to have sufficient electrical knowledge and understanding of the current edition of IET BS 7671 prior to taking this course.
Learners must have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to complete the learning outcomes and assessments.
